Discover the Future of Energy Cybersecurity – Join the ALiEnS-SOC Online Workshop

April 22, 2026

ALiEnS-SOC is a European project which is not only valuable for its technical results, but also for its knowledge-sharing capacities across a diverse group of stakeholders. By bringing together experts from the energy and cybersecurity domains, the project creates opportunities to exchange insights, align approaches, and strengthen the overall resilience of the electro-energy sector.

As part of these efforts, the ALiEnS-SOC consortium is organising its second online workshop, focused on the role of artificial intelligence in strengthening cybersecurity in the energy sector. The session will provide a structured overview of current challenges, regulatory developments, and practical solutions that are shaping the sector today.

The workshop will take place on 15 May 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 CET, and will be held online in English.

Participants will gain a clearer understanding of how cybersecurity risks are evolving within the energy ecosystem, how regulatory frameworks are influencing operational practices, and how collaborative approaches such as cyber threat intelligence sharing contribute to more effective detection and response. In addition, the workshop will highlight specific technical approaches, including the use of advanced tools and methodologies to improve cyber resilience.

The agenda reflects this combination of strategic and technical perspectives:

  • Welcome Words
Andrej Bregar, Deputy Business Director, Informatika
  • Regulatory Compliance of the Electricity Ecosystem (Findings and Guidelines of the Analysis Conducted within WP2)
Melita Šinkovec, Head of information and Cyber Security Division, Government Office for Information Security Office (URSIV)
  • Cyber Threats and Risks in the Energy Sector
    Matej Breznik, Cybersecurity Expert, SI-CERT
  • The ALiEnS-SOC Perspective on Trusted Services, Communities and Platforms for Cyber Threat Intelligence in the Electro Energy Sector
Metod Platiše, Product Manager for Cybersecurity Solutions, Telekom Slovenije
  • Cyber Resilience Strengthening through the Use of Honeypots
Ivan Cindrić, Cybersecurity Expert, Končar – Digital
  • Open Discussion and Wrap Up

The importance of such discussions lies in the nature of the energy sector itself. As a highly interconnected system, it is particularly exposed to cascading effects in the event of a cyber incident. This makes cybersecurity not only a matter of individual organisational preparedness, but of coordinated action and shared awareness across the entire ecosystem.

In this context, ALiEnS-SOC contributes by supporting the development of solutions that enable faster detection of threats, more efficient response mechanisms, and stronger cooperation between key stakeholders. The workshop is one of the ways in which these efforts are translated into practical knowledge and made accessible to a broader audience.

Registration for the workshop is open, and participation is free of charge.
