PLANNED ACTIVITIES
Work Packages
ALiEnS-SOC is built around six connected work packages, from ecosystem analysis and AI system development to real-world testing through pilots. The project also focuses on cross-border collaboration, CTI sharing, and business model development. Communication, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement play a key role in scaling results and strengthening cybersecurity across Europe’s energy sector.
Work package 1: Project management and coordination
WP1 Lead: ELES
The objective of this work package is to ensure the seamless management and coordination of our project. The aim is to meet all contractual obligations, ensuring high-quality performance, timely delivery of deliverables and the achievement of critical milestones. To coordinate all activities across the project to guarantee the delivery of anticipated outcomes, we will establish robust mechanisms for overall project coordination, continuous monitoring of progress against established benchmarks, efficient resources and comprehensive risk management.
Work package 2: Ecosystem analysis and scenario building
WP2 Lead: Informatika
This WP provides a comprehensive basis for the work packages WP3, WP4 and WP5. It lays the foundation to establish advanced technologies and processes, which will enhance the current SOTA of energy SOCs and leverage the cyber resilience of integrated IT and OT environments of the TSO and DSO ecosystem. This is based on the gap analysis of the current and required levels of the ecosystem`s cyber resilience. This WP aims to analyse the state of the landscape and provide recommendations for reducing cyber threats and vulnerabilities to which the ecosystem is subjected.
Work package 3: AI and CTI platform implementation
WP3 Lead: Smartis
In this work package two main deployment activities will be carried out. First, AI master system will be developed, deployed and tested as a central threat detection system for project beneficiaries. Second, CTI platform will be developed, deployed and tested. CTI platform will perform as central cyber threats and information management and exchange platform for project beneficiaries and wider usage – national and cross-border CTI exchange. In this term potential technologies will be assessed together with comprehensive system design.
Work package 4: Use cases implementation and validation
WP4 Lead: Smartis
In the work package the technology solution from WP3 will be configured and deployed in accordance with use cases’ specificaions. First, AI master system will be configured accordingly and deployed for Pilot 1 use cases. Second, CTI platform will be configured accordingly and deployed for usage as planned in Pilot 2 use cases. Comprehensive testing and validation will be made as for TRL9 environment. Documentation for end users (project beneficiaries) and potential users (as planned in WP5 – framework and business case) will be prepared. Trainings for experts as part of use case scenarios will be carried out.
Work package 5: National and cross-border sectorial operation capacity development and CTI information sharing business model
WP5 Lead: TELEKOM Slovenije
The goal of this WP is to establish framework of SOC cooperation aiming at operational capacity development and CTI sharing business model that are built on trust and compliance with cybersecurity regulatory requirements.
Work package 6: Communication, Dissemination and Stakeholder Engagement
WP6 Lead: TIKO PRO
The objective of this WP is to promote ALiEnS-SOC`s efforts and results on the level of communication, dissemination, scale out, awareness raising, ecosystem creation, stakeholder engagement and commitment. The information channels will include lay and professional public, with messages tailor suited to the recipient type. This WP will ensure that the EC`s strategies on cybersecurity will be widely known across Europe and beyond in such a way, that they will be also understood by lay persons, thereby improving the public`s understanding of cybersecurity and the value it provides in our everyday lives.
